Youth Initiative for Human Rights Serbia and Youth Initiative for Human Rights Bosnia and Herzegovina, organized seminar named "What can the World Learn from the Balkans: The Role of Youth in Democratic Transition", in cooperation with World Youth Movement for Democracy, held in Sarajevo from September 8 to September 11.
Executive director of Centre for Policy and Governance, Adis Muhović gave a lecture on subject "Unemployment of Youth in Postconflict Countries". The lecture included conclusion from CPU's analyses related to youth uunemployment issue in Bosnia and Herzegovina (education system, taxation policies, labour market needs, transparency of public institutions). The lecture and following discussion provided guidelines for youth and youth organizations involvement in improving processes of democratization and transition to market economy in their countries.
Seminar was attended by more than twenty young leaders from Pakistan, Burma, Zimbabwe, Ukraine, USA, Serbia, Croatia, Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The objective of the seminar was exchange of experiences and knowledge on the role of youth in process of democratic transition. Seminar was divided in several thematic sections that provided participants with a broader perspective on challenges related to democratization, economy and human rights in Western Balkans countries.

The conference is organized by Centre for Policy and Governance (CPU), supported by Centre for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) US. Structured in two panels, this conference brings together decision makers, representatives of the telecom industry and international expertise.
